50: Fast
Pros: Weight loss, idea (calorie shifting) has been proven to work.
Cons: It's a 50 day diet where your daily average calorie consumption is only 250. There are 6 fasting days and only 1 day where you get over 500 calories.
Suggestion: If you want to try a diet like this, I would suggest having 2-4 times the amount of calories this diet states or only doing it for 5-10 days at a time.
**Having a caloric intake this low for too long a period can cause harm. Do not follow this diet without a go ahead from a professional. If you or someone you know does go on this diet, be sure to have weekly or bi-weekly checkups. If you feel light headed or dizzy, eat. If you or someone you know is on this diet and you feel it may be because of an eating disorder, seek professional help.**
Apple Diet
There are different versions of the apple diet.
3 A Day have 1 apple before 3 meals each day.
Mono Diet This has you eating ONLY apples for about 1 week. You are allowed 1kg of apples for the first and last days. 2nd and 5th days of the diet you are to have 1/2 a kg of apples. 3rd and 4th 2 kgs. Drink water and (preferably green) tea.
Apple Fast for 1 day have only apples and drink as much water and (green) tea as you want.
Pros: you can lose a few extra lbs quickly and easily with the mono and fast. Apples are a source of vitamins and trace elements, which provide the body with all necessary useful substances. Apples contain vitamins A, C, P, V, as well as iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, calcium, copper, pectin, fructose, folic acid and are high in fiber. As such they can help with constipation and help establish the normal process of digestion. If you have apples regularly they will provide good effects on your metabolism.
Cons: you may get sick of apples
**This diet may be used by someone in the beginning stages of anorexia as apples are so low in calorie. If you or anyone else you know does the mono diet for much more than 1 week at a time, seek professional help.**
Fast-5
A brief summary: Do not eat for 19 hours of the day and then eat during 5 hours until you are full

The Fast-5 Diet: Fact or Fiction(blog)
Liquid Diet/Fast
You can go on a water only fast for as little to one day or up to 60 days (with permission from doctor). Average weight loss is 1lb per day. Can be up to 2 or 3lbs during the first few days and can the decrease to around 0.5lb. Weight loss will depend on the amount of sodium and water a person is retaining. After day 2 your body will utilize fatty tissues for energy (and conserves as much muscle tissue as possible due to a mechanism called protein sparing.
During a juice fast you can have any fruit or vegetable juices.
If you are doing this as a detox the water fast is much quicker as your digestive passageways and organs do not need to do anything and as such all of your energy can be put towards the detox (or weightloss).
Your metabolism will NOT slow down. Yes, you metabolism may slow down a bit during your fast but it WILL increase again when you start to eat. Your metabolism is based on your physiological needs. If you are too worried about weight gain after your fast, start slowly by adding certain things back and slowly increasing you calorie intake. For example, start with vegetables and 100 calories a day and slowly increase.
Pros: weight loss, nicer skin, improved digestion.
Cons: If not done properly this can cause a person to become ill. If you have an active life style the water fast is not the right option for you.
**If you have a history of taking toxic drugs (such as chemotherapeutic agents) DO NOT do a water only fast. This can cause damage to your kidneys). Be sure to check with your doctor before beginning any sort of fast.**
Salt Water Cleanse/Flush, The
in the morning before eating anything mix 2 tsps sea salt with 4 cups water. Drink it and within 1 hour you should begin to start having BMs. you can do this one day or every day for a week.
Pros: You'll lose some weight, may improve sleep, skin, breath and digestion. It may help as a natural laxative.
Cons: You'll have to try to make it a day where you'll be home all day. Try to avoid farting as your BMs will eventually be liquified. You may throw up after drinking. It may not always cause BMs.
**If you or anyone else does this more often you you feel you/he/she should, seek professional help as this may be a sign of an eating disorder.*
